The Tabasco-coated olives make the drink…

Cajun martini recipes come in all sorts of flavors. Some are simply traditional martinis with a jalapeño garnish, but others – like our recipe below – step it up with pepper-infused vodka and Tabasco-coated olives. Now that’s the Cajun spice we know and love!

On the vodka, you can pick up a bottle of Absolut Peppar or try your hand at creating your own homemade jalapeño vodka. It’s easy to do, just prep well in advance of when you expect to make this deliciously spicy cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce pepper infused vodka Absolut Peppar or make your own
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 3 olives

Instructions

  • Add the pepper-infused vodka, regular vodka, and vermouth to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, then strain into a cocktail glass.
  • Place the three olives in the empty shaker and add the Tabasco sauce. Gently shake the olives to coat them with the hot sauce. Spear the olives and use to garnish the martini.

Notes

Control the spiciness by adjusting the ratio of pepper-infused vodka used in the drink. You can make your own pepper vodka by following this recipe.
For a lemony twist, try swapping in Absolut Citron (or another lemon-infused vodka) for the regular vodka. The pairing of lemon and chili pepper works well.
