A scorching spicy cocktail…
Is the jalapeño martini just not enough spice? Then amp up your spicy cocktail repertoire with this tequila-based habanero martini! This is not just a step up (for that try subbing in serrano peppers for jalapeños in this vodka martini recipe); this is another territory all-together, at least 12 times spicier and the potential for a whole heck of a lot more.
The habanero pepper also adds a slight sweetness to the cocktail. For those adventurous enough, it’s a tasty twist to the classic.
Habanero Martini
Ingredients
- 1/2 habanero pepper
- 2 ounces agave tequila 8 count pour
- 1/2 ounce dry vermouth 2 count pour
- Ice
Instructions
- In a cocktail glass muddle the habanero to release some juices. Do not pulverize. Keep the pepper in the glass, or remove it for a (slightly) lesser heat.
- Combine over ice the tequila and vermouth. Shake well. Then pour the mix over the muddled habanero.
