A spicy beer-based thirst-quencher…
Ginger beer, spiced rum, and Tabasco sauce add plenty of warmth to the beer-based Hellfire cocktail. It’s a spiced (and lightly spicy) thirst-quencher cocktail. Serve it like a beer or try it over ice (in a big beer or pint glass) if you prefer something more cocktail-like.
If you like things spicy, don’t be afraid of an extra dash or two of Tabasco, too. There’s a lot of beer here, so a dash or two only provides a tickle of heat.
Hellfire Cocktail
Ingredients
- 1 Pilsner Urquell or another pilsner beer (Amstel works, as does Heineken)
- 1 ounce spiced rum
- 1 ounce ginger beer
- 2 dashes Tabasco Sauce
- 1/4 lime
Instructions
- Fill a beer glass with ice (optional, if you prefer the cocktail over ice), then squeeze the lime juice from the lime quarter into the glass.
- Add the spiced rum, ginger beer, and Tabasco sauce - lightly stir to combine.
- Slowly pour in the beer to the glass, lightly stirring at the beginning to combine all the ingredients. Serve with an additional lime wedge.
