Delicious Cajun flavors take center stage in this deliciously moreish appetizer. Cajun crab mushrooms are perfect for family events and festive gatherings as they are simple to make, easy to serve, and totally tasty.
At its core, this recipe is a delicious fusion of baby portobello mushrooms and lump crab meat. The mushroom caps serve as miniature cups, cradling a creamy, crab-studded cream cheese filling that’s bursting with flavor.
And then there’s the Cajun seasoning that brings the depth. There are so many ingredients in this delicious blend that really pair well with crab (and mushrooms to be honest). Spices like paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, and thyme. Cajun seasoning adds a warm, earthy depth that’s impossible to resist.

It’s not too hot, so everyone in the family can enjoy. But, of course, if you want them hotter, add a little extra cayenne pepper to the seasoning blend. Crushed red pepper can also work as an additive here to give it a little more oomph. Or, if you want some smokiness, add a pinch of smoked paprika.
