Pico de gallo powder is a quick way to add a salty fire to your favorite salsa, whether a tomato-based pico de gallo or your favorite tropical fruit salsa. The heat comes in many forms, from a little simmer of sweet paprika to a more certain cayenne pepper oomph. You control the overall heat, too, by deciding on a ground red chili pepper that you prefer. It can be milder, like ground ancho, or something bolder, like ground red jalapeño.
Though, you don’t need to get that fancy to enjoy this seasoning blend. Simply pick up some fruit and sprinkle this homemade pico de gallo powder right on top. Any tropical fruit works well, but it’s just as delicious on apples. It’s salty, fiery, tangy, and sweet all in one.
